Hmmm..

I am waiting for a dvd screener of The Wrestler to finish buffering as I write this and I noticed something in the film. It is something that happens in many films that I’ve seen.

By the way, The Wrestler is an amazing film and Mickey Rourke deserves to win the Oscar that he has been nominated for, a full proper film review to follow within the next few days. But, I digress.

Have you ever noticed how in films people will make plans to meet up later and yet they never exchange information. There is always this cool understanding that people will somehow know when to meet on Saturday at the mall. I don’t know about you, but I need to have an idea of when I’m meeting someone, as life can be very busy. I am not saying that a time should be set in stone. I’m all for “pencilling” a time for those just in case, last minute moments. But, give me something people. Just once I’d like to see someone say, “Yeah, what time are we meeting? 1:00 p.m., 2:00 p.m.?” More often than not though, people and writers play it cool and have the scene shift into that next moment, without any plans taking place on screen. I guess it could have occurred during that transition, but I’d like to see some nod towards this action.

Then again maybe I’m nitpicking here and these small moments on screen do not matter.
